To Know the Sweet

Jehovah commands the beasts to multiply, each after their kind,
That they may fill the measure of their creation
And have joy therein.
Elohim commands Adam and Eve to multiply and replenish the earth.
Eve’s last words express gladness for her seed.
My loins are blessed to be fruitful.
I ask for power in the priesthood to be upon my posterity.

They say if you don’t love to attend the temple,
To go more often, not less.
But I find more peace contemplating eternity
While sitting at my son’s grave.

Author’s note:
After my son died, I found myself bawling through the initiatory and endowment. It happened time after time, until the Spirit told me I didn’t have to cause such distress to myself. I could seek sacred spaces elsewhere. Eventually, the Spirit did pull me back to the temple, but to do sealings instead, which I found much gentler to the wound in my heart.
