Family Proclamation 1
“Behold your son,”
he said, dying.
“Behold your mother,”
he urged his friend.
Unspoken, unsealed covenant
as the temple of his body shattered.
From that day, Mary stared
at John’s walls and ceiling.
Family Proclamation 2
“You will be with me,” Mary’s firstborn
said, and the same day kept his promise.
He rejoined the two thieves—
joyous reunion!—
together in paradise.
