Fifteen months after requesting submissions for RESTORATION, Restorations has arrived.
It’s not unusual for an issue to undergo a namechange as it passes through the editing process, but the reasons are never the same. In this case, the works chosen inspired in me a sense that “the Restoration” is not a moment or even an era. It’s a series of nows in the lives of each person and the lives of a people. Or, perhaps, even peoples. And it is ongoing.
Ergo, Restorations.
The issue starts with a poem from Scott Hales that captures and explores the ongoing Restoration—or rather, more specifically (and more importantly for Irreantum), the role of the arts therein. Don’t sleep on the arts. Scripture starts with creation—and we are the children of that god.
